Gladiator sandals is in again this summer 2009!

Hollywood has been raving about these strappy ancient Roman sandals, and one of them is Samantha Ronson's girlfriend, Lindsay Lohan.

Rumors are that Lilo has been in the right path lately - indulging on a shopping therapy, hanging out with new friends, eating healthy, and even getting addicted to these trendy sandals.

Lilo pairs her gladiator sandals with a mini dress and an open tunic.

Getout of a car in style - Lilo revealing some skin
and showing off her heeled gladiator sandals.

Having a casual stroll wearing a purple dress, a pair of sunnies, and gladiator sandals.

Her white gladiator sandals look pretty elegant.

A confused fashionista! I think her outfit would be better if she loses the cap
and the enormous bag. But of course, save the Giuseppe Zanotti red gladiator sandals.

Katie Holmes is the face of Miu Miu's Spring/Summer 2009 Ad. She has evolved from a young lovely teenager to a grown-up woman who takes care of her daughter, Suri.

She's not known well as a fashion icon. In fact she will always be remembered as Joey from Dawson's Creek. But people need to accept that the girl is now a woman - matured and confident.

I have read a lot of mean comments about her photos from other websites:

"She's a freak.. Married to a scientologist.."
"Tom ruined her.. I like her better as Joey.."
"She's so skinny.."
"She's not model material, she looks fake on those photos.."
"Those are not her legs.. because hers are fat.."
"She and her bff Victoria Beckham look alike.. So scary.."

What's mine? This is her metamorphosis.. Once a caterpillar, and now a butterfly.. She can't stay young forever so let her leave the charming teenager image behind.

Miu Miu: The Story
Miuccia Prada's vision of a Miu Miu woman is continually redefined.
With each chapter becoming yet another facet of a crystalline, complicated feminine ideal.
Where an ingrained elegance meets immediacy and lightness.
Where independence, improbably, meets sensuality.
Where sophistication meets nonchalance.
The very definition of creative transformation,
to complement a woman who is impossible to define.

Miu Miu's S/S 2009 Collection are "literally" on fire, and so is Katie in her photos. Acclaimed fashion photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott shot this ad campaign in New York last November 2008.

mint
has been in the Philippine fashion industry since my college days. I still remember my first ever purchase in their store -- an aquamarine cocktail dress on SALE. Yes, I'm a sucker for bargains. That time all their items were on 50% discount. So yeah, what's a girl like me to do..

That one outfit was followed by another one.. and another one.. and another.. I'm not an uber fan of the store, but their dresses are lovely, especially the casual ones.

Recently, mint introduced their new endorser - Ms. Christine Reyes. If you don't know her, she's the younger sister of Ara Mina. If you don't know her still, she's the star of the sexy and intriguing soap "Eva Fonda" in ABS-CBN which ended months ago.

Christine Reyes
very much represents Mint's fashion trend - fresh, fearless, and fun. Their garments and accessories are "available to the young and young at heart".

MINT is having a new campaign this February and billboards will be up soon. The new set of pictures of Christine Reyes for MINT are posted below. More set of pictures will be coming!

Is the zipper dress really the perfect outfit in times of recession?

Well, now you've seen it and it actually exists.

The Zipper is made of 120 separate zips, handmade, by designer Sebastian Errazuriz from New York. From conceptualization down to the last zipper, he had in mind the very reason why he made the dress: To make it easier for women to keep up with the fast-changing fashion trends every season. Read more...

The zipper dress can be modified to an evening gown, a shirt, a skirt, a belt.. The possibilities are endless. The dress is also adjustable, so you don't have to worry about length and stuff.

What to love about this dress? It comes in one piece, but you can do more than one style.. Heck, maybe a hundred more! Use it as an emergency belt, a mini skirt, create a funky midriff top, or a sexy blouse with slits at the back (or in front, if your breasts are your asset). You can reconstruct, customize the dress to your own liking.. I mean, it's like taking full control of your wardrobe - but it's only one dress.

It gives the wearer a chance to have fun and be creative. I would love to see this dress mass-produced. I am personally amazed.

Maybe then I can actually face the reality with some of its flaws (which I am anticipating right at this moment): One zipper unzipping by itself, the zippers falling apart while you flirt with the hottest guy in a party, your tresses being caught up by a number of evil zippers....... Getting hurt, and worst, being told that you should at least buy a different color of the same dress you've been wearing over and over again. You know what I mean.

But, and another but, I think the zipper dress is still worth trying. Talk about practicality in times of economic crisis - If you can't afford to buy 20 pieces of outfit for the next season, I guess this one's the answer.

Subtlety, a strong sense of creativity, and self-confidence are all needed to be able to pull this off.

Last Thursday night, me and my fashionista friend streetsmartchic attended yet another cool fashion event at Le Souffle, The Fort. It was a blogger's affair for the unveiling of the new Ipanema Gisele Bundchen Seeds Collection.

We arrived at the place at 7 PM, fortunately the event hasn't started yet. We were given press kits and gift certificates each. I traded my GC for a pair of New Fem Thong in Brown Bronze!

My GB Seeds name tag!

Ipanema goes echo-chic with GB Seeds Collection! These stylish flip-flops cares for Mother Earth - the forest-inspired prints, the small spiral emblem which symbolizes "the seed of life", and Ipanema's initiative to share a percentage of its sales revenues to various environmental foundations around the globe.

Food was great at Le Souffle! I haven't been paying much attention to people around me once I started eating. I wasn't even grossed out with the whole slippers-as-centerpiece thing, 'cause aside from the scrumptious food, the flip-flops in front of me were really gorgeous.

Mr. Francisco "Patxi" Elizalde, managing director of ELRO Commercial and Industrial Corporation, introduced the new Ipanema Collection and talked about their mission to help Haribon Foundation in its awareness campaign called "ROAD to 2020" through organizing a walkathon "Walk the Green Mile" to save the Philippine Rainforests.

Instead of the usual fashion show where models strut their stuff on the runway, a stylized ballet dance was poetically performed by the Philippine Ballet Theater group. And instead of wearing ballet shoes, they proved the audience that Ipanema GB Seeds Collection isn't only fashionable but also versatile.

It was a wonderful night of meeting new bloggers and friends, taking home freebies, and enjoying a whole new experience in fashion. :)
